The Opportunity
Save the Children is inviting applications from suitably qualified person to
fill the position of Child Rights Governance Coordinator. The CRG Coordinator
is responsible for the quality and technical delivery of the CRG component of
SCREP Programme. CRG aims at fulfilling children’s rights by supporting
Government systems and civil society to effectively monitor and implement
children’s rights as enshrined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights
of the Child (UNCRC), African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child
(ACRWC) and other international instruments while ensuring children’s
participation across the spectrum. It also aims at raising the issues and
status of children in all societies so that no children are left behind,
ensuring that they are treated as citizens of today, not just tomorrow, and in
doing so to push children and their rights up the political agenda.
In order to be successful you will bring/have
> At least degree in Social Sciences/Social Work and Social Administration/ Development Studies/Child Rights/Legal Studies/Economic or any relevant field experiences.
> Extensive and substantive relevant practical experience may be considered.
> At least (5) years’ experience in programming for child rights and child protection.
> At least three (3) years’ experience working with and grass roots organizations and/or local NGOs with experience building the capacity of local organizations)
> Management experience in a coordination role at national level
> A commitment to children’s rights and an ability to provide leadership in this area.
> Significant demonstrated experience in providing high quality technical advice in CRG programs for children
> Experience in managing significant grants, preferably child rights related ones.
> Experience of working effectively with partner organizations.
> Demonstrable competence in training, monitoring and evaluation, policy review and formulation, proposal and report writing.
> Experience of community participation, ownership and empowerment.
> Experience in remote monitoring and evaluation.
