Background
Malawi Network of Religious Leaders living with or personally affected by HIV
and AIDS (MANERELA+) is a non-profit Faith Based Organization that was
established in 2004. The network exists to fight Stigma, Shame, Denial,
Discrimination, In-action and Miss-action (SSDDIM) within religious
institutions, congregations and local communities for the purpose of scaling
up HIV, TB, SRHR, GBV and Malaria prevention, Treatment, Care and Impact
mitigation services in Malawi.
MANERELA+ has secured funding from the US government under the Department of
defense HIV/AIDS Prevention program to implement a four year project –
entitled Unlocking the Social Capital of Military & Faith Communities
(Project USMF) to Support HIV/AIDS Services with a goal of promoting
increased adoption of HIV prevention behaviors and service uptake for military
personnel and other priority populations to prevent New HIV infections through
effective engagement of faith leaders within the Malawi Defense Force (MDF) as
well as their surrounding communities and faith Communities. The project will
be implemented in 6 sites in the first year and scale up to all 14 sites in
the following year.
MANERELA+ hereby invites applications from suitably qualified Malawians to
fill the vacant position of District Field Officer for the above mentioned
project tenable in Zomba.
Job Description
Specific duties
> Coordinating the planning, implementation and monitoring of all activities at site level
> Facilitate interface meeting between Religious leaders, Health workers and Recipient of care in the military and surrounding communities
> Facilitate trainings for the target populations in the project sites
> Facilitate the formation of Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights clubs for AGYW/ABYM
> Facilitate the formation of circles of hope in the project area
> Submit monthly, quarterly and annual plans and reports to the Project Coordinator
> Representing the organization at District level
> Supervise, and monitor the project implementation and ensuring that the project is on track

Qualifications requirements
Education
> Diploma in Social sciences, M&E, Statistics, Community development or related field
Experience
> Minimum of three (3) years of experience in related position on data management
> Prior experience working in the HIV/Health sector and non-governmental/faith based organization will be an added advantage
> Experience working with AGYW/ABYM; Faith Leaders and the PLHIV community
Job Skills
> Good supervisory and Leadership skills
> Excellent team work and group dynamic management skills
> Flexibility to work with and adapt to grassroots community settings
